Can I get Microsoft Office for free?
A: 

As part of our Office365 subscription students, faculty, and staff are allowed to download Office and install it on up to 5 devices. To access this benefit follow this link (login required):

This page will allow you to install Office for PC or MAC depending on what platform you are using. 
You may also install Skype for Business for its collaboration capabilities.

How do I change Canvas email notifications settings?
A: 

There are several different kinds of notification settings that can be adjusted by each Canvas user individually, choosing when they want to receive email notifications, and when they do not.

By default, there are certain notification preferences that are set to "Notify me ASAP," which is essentially immediately. In order to change this, you have the ability to personalize your notification preferences.

You just need to go to your Canvas account, click "Settings" in the top right corner (near your name), then click "Notifications" in the left column. This will then bring up every notification setting you can modify.

How do I forward Juilliard email?
A: 

Forwarding Juilliard email to another email address:

  1. Log into webmail at http://mail.juilliard.edu using your Juilliard credentials.
  2. At the top right of the screen, click the Gear icon.
  3. In the settings menu that appears, click “Options”.
  4. The Options screen will display. Look under “Mail” for “Accounts”. Under “Accounts”, click “Forwarding”.
  5. Click the button next to “Start Forwarding”. In the text box under “Forward my email to:”, enter the address that you want to receive your forwarded Juilliard email.
  6. If you would like a copy of the forwarded Juilliard email to remain in your Juilliard mailbox, click the box next to “Keep a copy of forwarded messages”.* Otherwise, all email sent to you Juilliard address will bypass your Juilliard mailbox and go directly to the forwarded address. 
    PLEASE NOTE JUILLIARD IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RECEPTION OF FORWARDED MESSAGES BY AN EXTERNAL MAILBOX – IF YOU ENABLE FORWARDING, YOU MUST ENSURE THAT MAILBOX CAN ACCEPT JUILLIARD EMAIL.
  7. Click the “Save” button to confirm your forwarding.
  8. Click the account icon at the top right of the page and select “Sign Out” to sign out of Juilliard webmail. 

* The “Keep a copy…” option is safer because you can always return to your Juilliard webmail (http://mail.juilliard.edu) to retrieve messages should you have a problem with the email account used for forwarding. Note that using this option means your email will accumulate in the Juilliard mailbox. Deleting Juilliard email from the email account used for forwarding will only remove it from that account. So when using this option you’ll want to periodically log into http://mail.juilliard.edu to delete unimportant messages and keep your Juilliard mailbox from becoming full.

How to delete cookies in my browsers?

Deleting cookies on Safari: 

  1. Open Safari 
  2. From the Safari menu, open Preferences 
  3. In the Preferences window, click on the Privacy tab 
  4. Click on the button labeled, "Remove All Website Data..." 
  5. Select "Remove now" when asked if you are sure you want to remove all data stored by websites. 

Deleting cookies on Chrome: 

  1. Open Chrome 
  2. Type chrome://settings/ into your address bar 
  3. At the bottom of the page, click on "Show advanced settings" 
  4. Under the Privacy section, click the "Clear browsing data..." button 
  5. From the drop-down menu, choose "From the beginning of time" 
  6. Make sure that there is a check mark next to the "Cookies..." option 
  7. Click on the "Clear browning data" button. 

Deleting cookies on Firefox: 

  1. Open Firefox 
  2. Type about:preferences#privacy into your address bar 
  3. Click on the link to "clear your recent history" 
  4. Change the time range to clear drop-down menu to "Everything" 
  5. Be sure that there is a check mark next to the "Cookies" option 
  6. Click on the "Clear now" button
